The Academy of Sciences Chennai and Science City, Chennai is conducting 21 days Summer Training Program (STP-2024) in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics this year through online and lab sessions by offline mode for two weeks (from 15th May to 30th May 2024). This program is effectively designed to benefit the Postgraduate students of Tamil Nadu, especially from rural back ground/ government colleges and also to motivate the students to write CSIR / GATE examinations as well as to pursue a career in research. This training programme is meant for the Second year M. Sc. students (going to the second academic year in 2024-2025), who are interested in pursuing research career. The training programme will completely be online consisting of lectures / tutorials / assignments. The lectures will be delivered by the faculty members drawn from the leading research and teaching institutions and fellows of the academy. A four day hands on training will be provided to the participants at the participating institutions in Tamil Nadu. Second class train fare with Boarding and lodging would be provided for attending the 4 day Hands on training. The student strength is limited to 80 per subject for the program, the admission will normally be restricted to a maximum of two students per Department/College. Interested candidates should submit their details through online. The assessment form (recommendation letter given by HOD / faculty in favor of applicant) can be filled online by the HOD / Faculty in the link provided. The classes will be conducted during 10 am to 5 pm.
